Lekha – Dream Walk Series

Based in Bangalore, Lekha is a visual artist whose work invites viewers on what she calls a dream walk — a lyrical passage where memory, folktale, and wonder converge. Rooted in folklore and colour, her art transforms everyday scenes into rich, imaginary worlds that feel both familiar and otherworldly.

Each piece begins with a study of shape and hue — colours borrowed from mango skies and twilight hours — before she layers in the imaginary: architecture, flora, figures, and symbolic objects that appear to belong to another time. The result is an immersive visual language that oscillates between the real and the fantastical, evoking both nostalgia and curiosity.

Through her practice, Lekha explores how folklore and collective memory can inhabit contemporary spaces, giving rise to compositions that are vibrant, poetic, and deeply human. Her works are joyous in palette and accessible in spirit, inviting the viewer to pause, to wonder, and to wander — to find, in her world of imagination, echoes of their own.
