The Rooster knows' is loosely based on pictures I took at the pool side of a town club while waiting for my son to finish his swimming lesson. I found the deco and the space quite peculiar and I started imagining a composition where the perspective warps and the space collapses creating a disorientating effect. It became a fictional space of heightened color a space between reality and imagination. The only steady elements are the cup of coffee on the unbalanced table and the subtle rooster's shadow on the ground.
