About The Indian Summer:
Our collection is created in yarn-dyed handloom linen woven with soft metallic yarn by artisans in eastern India. The soft colour palette includes our favourite summer hues – mango, sky blue and ivory. The artisanal woven fabric is accented with two hand-illustrated floral prints that are soft, raw and delicate. The printed floral motifs and vines are textured using the small hand-embroidered beads and cord embroidery in summer colours. The intricate beads are embroidered painstakingly on the hemlines and sleeves as well to add an element of playfulness. The textural depth of the collection is shown through the use of various hand-woven textiles– metallic linen, silk organza and sheer lightweight linen.
The Indian Summer collection is composed of comfortable separates and timeless ensembles including our favourite essentials - signature shirts, breezy tiered dresses, flowing translucent overlays, voluminous tunics, embroidered kurtis, wrap skirts, tapered pants and embroidered belts. The thought process behind these silhouettes is to enable you to style them in your own unique way – wear them for a cup of coffee with friends or to a get-together with family or when you’re reading a book alone at home. The silhouettes are wearable, unpretentious and comfortable.
Since our founding in 1992, we have worked earnestly to not fit into a preconceived notion of what a brand should be – we are just trying, humbly, to create designs that we love to wear. It’s the only way we can design – it is our circle of competence and understanding. At our design house, we subscribe to three basic tenets when we create any collection – a collection must be artisan-led, must be timeless and must be wearable.
