- Make it your own. Remember, it's your house. There is no right or wrong. Your space needs to reflect you.
- Less is more. You don't have to hang up every art piece you own. Hanging up art pieces throughout the home leaves the space feeling cluttered. Instead, try a wall mural for a change.
- Transform old to new. I'm big on sustainability, so I try to save what I can...be it by reupholstering an old sofa or giving an old piece of furniture a new lick of paint and a new lease of life.
- Measuring is key. Before you order new furniture, measure the piece, measure the space you have, and do consider the dimensions of your elevator.
- Don't be afraid of color. They don't bite. Experiment with color, prints, and patterns.
- Always, I repeat, always sample your paint before you color the whole wall.
- The magic of wallpaper. My favorite tool to elevate a room from dull to va va voom!
- Never buy sofas or beds online. See, touch, feel, and try it out before purchasing these key pieces.
- Go big in small places. You'll be surprised how that incredibly tall plant or a busy print on wallpaper can make a tight space look bigger. The trick is knowing when to stop.
- Take a leaf out of upscale hotels and give your home a signature scent.
