SUI was born with the idea of making conscious clothing exciting, powerful yet one that carries a green heart.

‘Sui’ meaning ‘needle’ in Hindi is looping in the missing moral fiber from the fashion world by meticulously weaving it into the products offered, the needle symbolizing the sacred connection with nature.

From the single thread that binds a garment together to the last layer of packaging the final product, the entire process of creating these carefully handcrafted pieces of wonder is sustainable and eco-conscious. As purveyors of simple living, conscious consumption and slow fashion through their manifesto, this fashion label based in India & Singapore promises quality over quantity while supporting traditional crafts and communities at the grassroots level.

Chemical-free dyes, organic fabrics and blends, worker welfare practices and a green journal are all employed in promoting fashion ideals they hold close to their hearts. Below is our quick guide to fabric care, to help you look after your SUI garments :

HANDMADE FABRICS

Kala cotton, Handspun Handwoven Organic cotton, Jamdani

Hand wash at room temperature (recommended)
For Kala Cotton - you machine wash only on a gentle cycle
Do not bleach or scrub
Dark colors may bleed, so wash alone for its first wash then with similar colors
Dry away from direct sunlight
Do not tumble dry
Line dry
Iron warm in reverse
Dry clean only if necessary

MACHINE MADE FABRICS

Tencel, Organic Cotton, Knits, Hemp

Hand wash separately at room temperature or machine wash in gentle cycle
Use mild detergents only
Do not bleach or scrub
Dark colors may bleed, so wash alone for its first wash then with similar colors
Tumble dry on low heat setting or Line Dry
Iron warm in reverse
Dry clean only if necessary

Our fabrics are also often a times crafted with plant based dyes or block prints, here is the additional care for the same :

A) We do not allow returns or exchanges for the following brands: Chola, Rajiramniq, Akaaro, Shades of India , Studio Medium, Suparna Som, Nirjara. These products involve intricate handcrafted techniques and are not eligible for returns or exchanges. If you've received a wrong or damaged product, please contact us at hello@canvasandweaves.com.

B) All brands except those mentioned in point A are eligible for return or exchange. If you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase from Canvas & Weaves, you can return/exchange your qualifying item(s) for a full refund or exchange within 14 days of your purchase. Please write to us directly at hello@canvasandweaves.com, and we will assist you through the return/exchange process. We reserve the right to refuse excessive or unreasonable return requests.

C) Sale items are not eligible for returns or exchange.

D) Customized orders are not eligible for return or exchange.

E) Returns/exchange garments must be unworn with the original tags attached and with the original packaging; returned merchandise that does not satisfy these requirements may not qualify for a refund.

F) The shipping cost will have to be borne by the buyer/sender.

As curators working with artisan-centric brands, our handcrafted products undergo rigorous quality checks. However, since the garments are made using natural processes like natural dyes and handwoven fabrics, it may lead to irregularities, highlighting the uniqueness of each piece. Please review product descriptions carefully; these irregularities are not defects but distinctive features celebrating the handmade nature of our items.

REFUND

After approving your qualifying return, Canvas & Weaves will credit your original payment method. Please note that it may take 7 to 14 business days, depending on your financial institution, for the refund to reflect in your bank or credit card account.

CUSTOMS & DUTIES

For all international deliveries, customs and duties will have to be paid on arrival by the customer, if applicable.
