  1. Make it your own. Remember, it's your house. There is no right or wrong. Your space needs to reflect you.
  2. Less is more. You don't have to hang up every art piece you own. Hanging up art pieces throughout the home leaves the space feeling cluttered. Instead, try a wall mural for a change.
  3. Transform old to new. I'm big on sustainability, so I try to save what I it by reupholstering an old sofa or giving an old piece of furniture a new lick of paint and a new lease of life.
  4. Measuring is key. Before you order new furniture, measure the piece, measure the space you have, and do consider the dimensions of your elevator.
  5. Don't be afraid of color. They don't bite. Experiment with color, prints, and patterns.
  6. Always, I repeat, always sample your paint before you color the whole wall.
  7. The magic of wallpaper. My favorite tool to elevate a room from dull to va va voom!
  8. Never buy sofas or beds online. See, touch, feel, and try it out before purchasing these key pieces.
  9. Go big in small places. You'll be surprised how that incredibly tall plant or a busy print on wallpaper can make a tight space look bigger. The trick is knowing when to stop.
  10. Take a leaf out of upscale hotels and give your home a signature scent.
